Scott Jones

I have been in private practice in Asheville since 1992 and have had the opportunity to handle substantial commercial litigation, serious personal injury and wrongful death claims and have advised clients in business transactions and planning. I have tried cases and represented clients regularly in Superior Court throughout Western North Carolina and in federal district court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

In addition, I have also practiced in the Tribal Court and the Supreme Court of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

I was born and raised in Shelby, North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina as a National Merit and Johnston scholar, with honors as a double major in chemistry and political science. I received my law degree from the University of Virginia and completed a judicial clerkship with Justice Richard Neely of the West Virginia Supreme Court.

I am very active in my church, Weaverville United Methodist, where I have served on the Church Council and as Chair of the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

I believe our law firm benefits greatly from each of our strengths and the power of teamwork we bring to our clients. I also believe there is no substitute for thorough and thoughtful preparation on behalf of our clients and know each of us in the firm shares this commitment.
